ABOUT THE WISCONSIN LGBTQ HISTORY PROJECT

MISSION STATEMENT

The Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project Inc. is founded to provide a platform for authoritative historical information about Wisconsin’s LGBTQ community.

The Project shall endeavor to collect, curate, and disseminate said information via any platform: web site, books, articles and interviews in the media, talks, tours, display of historical panels at any events, etc. To the extent possible, the Project will strive to serve as a central repository for Wisconsin LGBTQ historical information, by including the research work of other groups or individuals to the web site and other dissemination methods (giving them appropriate credit).

The Project will always strive to maintain some separation between its primary purpose of preserving historical information, and any involvement in current events. Within those guidelines, the Project shall make every reasonable effort to include input from other LGBTQ organizations from around the state in its makeup and decision making.
