The Rooster was being listed in gay guides as early as approx. 1968, and was advertising as late as December 1971, but its exact dates of operation are uncertain. Rumored to be owned by Al Berry at one point, its advertising in late 1971 listed the proprietors as Tiny and Ron. This bar later became the Seaway bar, and then a dyke bar.

More information about this business is welcomed from anyone who can contribute it.
