Note that many issues included possibly-objectionable paid advertising content, such as advertisements for 800-number call-in sex lines and internet porn. The newspaper attempted to segregate those ads in a 'Section X' (and later as 'Purely Personal' section), which they ran as the middle four pages of the paper, allowing it to be easily pulled out and discarded if so desired. At first it was even printed upside down to better differentiate the contents.

Because these sections ran with separate page numbering, we have moved those sections to the end of each PDF file so that page numbers of the primary contents of the issue match the PDF page numbers. And as national full-page advertising dried up, Personals were agin incorporated into the main newspaper and the pull-out 'X-rated' center-section disappeared.

Also note that where the center pages of an issue held a 2-page ad that is not divided down the middle, we are showing the two pages in sequence (with a necessary split down the center to keep numbering sequential); but have then also scanned the center span unbroken and placed that image at the very end of the PDF. If you encounter a center-section that appears to be split, check the end of the file for a possible center view.

The 'Wisconsin Light' was resurrected briefly from September 2001 to April 2002 (published as Volume 14, about 4 issues; and Volume 15, about 7 issues). Unfortunately we have been unable to locate any of those full issues, only a few excerpts/ pages (click 'Next Issues' below to access). If anyone has copies of those full issues, please contact the Webmaster, we would like to scan them! Thank you!
