The Buckskin Inn is the new name given to the Royal Hotel, when financial problems arose at the old Royal and a new owner sought to re-establish its reputation. Thus the Buckskin Inn is listed briefly in a few national Gay Bar Guides from 1971 to 1973.

See "Club 546/ Michelle's" for information about the Royal Hotel's bar, known by several names in the LGBT community.
