A good piece of artwork can make or break a mood, enhance or detract from a setting. Dark spaces or secluded corners can be brightened with a vibrant work, and a large wall can be made to enhance the habitability of a space with the right number, sizes, and arrangements of artwork.
Although some artists prefer their artwork be displayed only on white or off-white walls, Dix believes the right artwork, properly framed and matted, can enhance any setting or wall.
Artwork is easier to rearrange than wallpaper, paint or other wall coverings, and more versatile than paneling or similar wall treatments. The mood of a room can be changed from season to season or just on a whim, by simply rearranging a few items of artwork, or rotating a few pieces into and out of storage.
The unique style and colors in virtually all of Dix's work lends itself equally well to almost any surrounding themes: his work seems to "fit right in" whether the architectural and furniture surrounding them are modern, contemporary, oriental, classical, even Early American.
Dix is pleased to assist a client in selecting the right piece of art for the setting, often by looking at photos of the space brought in to the Gallery. Dix also works with several design firms who assist clients in placing his and other works.
